Can one ever really fully define a word? It seems like each time we use a word, the meaning is changed, if only a little, by the context of wherever we are and whatever we're doing.
For me, the expression Sappenin is is a slang term (perhaps overused in some of my circles -- you know who you are), generally used as a greeting or introductory phrase meant to begin a conversation, short for "what's happening".
Personally, I (along with others) have also forked the usage of this word, and now use it whenever I do "something". My usage is often either very loud (yelling at the top of my lungs) as in the cases when I do something stupid while driving, feel embarrassed, and have an overwhelming desire to yell something out the window to make people think I was merely joking about that car I just cut off -- SAPPENNNIIIINNNN!!
I also use the term when I've just said something really cool or insightful, something that makes a lot of sense. Like, "I'm a pretty good dancer, huh?", followed by this, in a lower, cool-sounding tone, "...Sappenin".
Do you use this word? If not, you should start. It's very cathartic. If you do use the word, let me know how or update the wikipedia.
